Edward David Brown, 64

Edward David Brown, 64, passed away at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids on April 9th. Ed was born October 7, 1955 in Houston, MO, the son of Thomas and Merna (Daniel) Brown. Ed moved to Gladbrook, Iowa as a young boy attending Gladbrook Community Schools. Ed worked at Tama Meat Packing in Tama before farming with his father-in-law in the Beaman-Conrad area, ending his work career at Marshalltown Trowel. Ed married Dee Bonel on April 25, 1981 at the United Methodist Church in Gladbrook, Ia. They began their life together in Gladbrook, later moving to the Beaman-Conrad area. Upon Ed’s retirement they moved to Center Point for Dee’s work and later fulfilled their dream by making their permanent residence at Holiday Lake near Brooklyn, Iowa. Together they have one son, Cody. Ed loved life at the lake going rock hunting with his grand daughters and riding the golf cart around the lake. Ed also very much enjoyed going to auctions looking for that special treasure. Ed is survived by his wife, Dee; son Cody (Heather) Brown of Brooklyn; three Granddaughters, Briella, Nikita and Elody; his mother-in-law Leona Bonel, Brooklyn, IA; Sister in Law Tena (Carl) Arrington of Anna, TX, and four sisters: Lois (Craig) Keefer of Albion, Lynna Hauser (Gladbrook), Sally (Bob) Nekola, Gilman, Peggy (Alan) Kinkinnon, Atlantic and many nieces and nephews. Ed was preceded in death by this parents, Tom and Merna, his father-in-law Pete Bonel, and brother, Mike Brown. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
