The Gladbrook UMC Sunday School children participated in the December 15th worship service & presented a wonderful play titled “Journey to Bethlehem” for the service’s message. Damien Caron began with lighting the 3rd Advent Candle as the Sunday School children watched. Elle Carlson played Christmas carols on the piano for the offertory music. Brianna Strohbehn sang “Mary Did You Know?” as Mary & Joseph wondered at the birth of Jesus. Short skits performed by the children included depicting Joseph talking with his father, the wise men & shepherds on the journey to Bethlehem, the shepherds in their fields watching their flocks, Mary & Joseph with the newborn baby & the Children’s Bell Choir singing “Joy to the World”. Nancy Keiser directed this year’s program. Steve Keiser constructed the set. Joan Surber made some of the props. Jhona Lyn Gallo & Becky Fish were music directors. Several adults helped with getting the production together & participated in the worship service.
