Gladbrook Women’s Club

The Gladbrook Women's Club met at the Gladbrook Library on September 12 with 23 members answering roll call. Beth Wegner was welcomed as our newest member. Proceeding the meeting was an excellent presentation from Beth, the Gladbrook librarian. She explained the different programs available to library users. President Marcy called the meeting to order. With the new members we have, Marcy asked each member to introduce themselves. The secretary's minutes were read and approved. June gave the treasurer's report and it was approved and filed with the secretary's report. Marcy thanked Carolyn for auditing the books. Karen L. read the corn carnival thank you for our first place float. Old business consisted of reports on the corn carnival float, the June Fling trip, the 4H fair food stand and the garage sale. New business included driver gratuity to out of town events, the new budget, and Halloween on Main. Women's club will be represented. Barb L. Reported on our Christmas outing. B.J. Will chair our responsibilities for the Corn Carnival cookbook with help from our members. The October meeting will be October 10th at Spanky's. The program will be on the Honor Flight with Chuck Wickersham, the presenter. Stephen recognized September birthdays and anniversaries. June listed the members responsible for October Hospice cookies. Averial reported on Holiday Happenings and the possible need for a silver tree. With no further business, the meeting was adjourned. A delicious sandwich lunch was served by hostesses: Joan, Marilyn, Mary Jane, and Connie.
