Nicole Clapp to be installed as National Auxiliary President 2019-2020

Gladbrook American Legion Auxiliary Unit 127 Department of Iowa proudly presents their candidate, Nicole Clapp, for National Auxiliary President 2019-2020 at the National Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, on Wednesday, August 28. National Vice President Nicole’s love for that “pretty red flower’ started her life long journey to becoming the American Legion Auxiliary 100th National President. Many from Gladbrook, Tama County, and Iowa will be attending the convention. Click on: Watch video from ALA National Convention. on Wednesday, August 28, approximately 1:30 p.m. Central Time. You will see not only Nicole’s family but Jolene Denbow and Terri Luehring present the Gladbrook Unit Flags, and Rev. Barb Muhs will offer prayer. Nicole’s ongoing dedication to serve military, veterans, and their families will inspire her to lead the American Legion Auxiliary into the next century of service. The Department of Iowa would like to invite everyone to take part in Nicole’s “Homecoming in America’s Heartland” Oct. 3-5. Legion and Auxiliary members, family, friends, and guests will be traveling to Tama County from all over the country. Events include on Thurs. Oct. 3, 5:00 p.m. a buffet dinner and trivia night at Pilgrim Heights. Friday, October 4, buses will trasport guests to the Waterloo John Deere Tractor Cab Assembly. From there lunch will be served at Clark & Associates, a prosthetic and orthotics facility, where the needs of our nation’s heros are met. The day will conclude with a farm to table dinner at the Brett & Beth Miller farm west of Gladbrook on Highway 96. There will be lots of equipment to see and wagon rides by the TF Clydesdales. The dinner will include the Pork Producers grilling Iowa Chops. Saturday, October 5, Gladbrook will roll out the red carpet for their hometown girl as the group will tour the famous Matchstick Marvels with Pat Acton addressing the group. After a short film on Iowa’s Medal of Honor recipient, Salvatore Guinta, the Gladbrook SAL will host a fish fry luncheon at the Memorial Building. Saturday night will be the semi-formal banquet at the Meskwaki Convention Center with festivities starting at 5 p.m. followed by the dinner and performance by the Iowa Military Veterans Band.
