Before Judge Mary E. Chicchelly in Tama County District Court in Toledo:

David Michael Keidel, 76, Cedar Falls, was sentenced on July 11 to 10 years in prison on Tama County Attorney Brent Heeren charge of vehicular homicide - reckless homicide and five years in prison on a charge of serious injury by vehicle- reckless driving serious injury by vehicle. the sentences are to run consecutively. He was fined and assessed court costs totaling $13,433 and was ordered to pay the estate of Donald Selken a total of $150,000. Keidel entered guilty pleas on May 23. In handing down the sentences Judge Chichelley wrote the reasons and factors considered by the court were the victim impact statements, the nature of the offense, the defendant's history, protection of the community they provide and holding the defendant accountable. Charges of homicide by vehicle- OWI homicide by vehicle and serious injury by vehicle- OWI serious injury by vehicle were dismissed. Keidel was originally charged on July 15, 2017, as the result of a collision on Iowa Highway 21 near Tama County Road D65 northwest of Dysart. According to the report of Iowa State Trooper Matthew Schwenn, a pickup truck operated by Keidel collided with a car driven by Donald Selken in a bridge construction zone over Wolfe Creek which resulted in the death of Selken, 81, of Vinton and injuries to his passenger, Lois M. Schmitt, 74, also of Vinton. Shannon Chyma Feisel, 30, Tama, pleaded guilty to 2nd offense drunken driving. She was sentenced to 90 days in jail with all but seven days suspended and credited for any time already served and fined and assessed court and D.A.R.E. surcharges totaling $2,541 and court costs. She was placed on self-supervised probation and directed to pay a $300 supervisory fee and to complete a substance abuse evaluation and follow any treatment recommendations. Feisel was charged on March 18 in the 1200 block of State Street by Tama Police Officer Tyler Ayala-Pagan. Ashley Nicole Taylor Camacho, 24, Sully, Iowa, was found in contempt of court for failure to failing to abide by terms of probation. She was sentenced to 30 days in jail which may be served in connection with a sentence imposed in Poweshiek County for 2nd offense drunken driving. Camacho was cited in a probation violation report for a June 7 incident in Jasper County where she was charged with domestic abuse assault injury or mental illness. She had been sentenced in Tama County District Court on May 7 on charges of 2nd offense drunken driving and assault with intent of injury for which she had received suspended prison terms and was placed on probation

Before Judge Chad A. Kepros: David Kyle Crady, 52, Newton, entered a written plea of guilty to possession or a prescription drug or device with a prescription he was sentenced to 10 days in jail with redit for 10 days already served aandfined and assessed court costs totaling $710. Crady charged on June 15, 2018, for being in possession of the narcotic brand drug Xanax without a proper prescription by Toledo Police Chief Fred Oster.
