The Gladbrook Lions met on July 11th, at Spanky's for a supper meeting. A picture of the Lion's float in the Corn Carnival parade was passed around. The Lions also helped with the Friday night bingo chaired by Lion Chris Hackett. Chris, who is a board member of the Iowa Lions Foundation, reported on the district meeting. She stated that the new District Governor, Judy Stone, is from Marshalltown. The plans are for Gladbrook to host the district convention in March of 2020. Chris stated that Peace Church and the Gladbrook Lions donated two boxes of hygiene items for the "Blessing Bags". The 2021 USA/Canada Lions Leadership Forum will be held in Iowa. This is a wonderful opportunity for Lion members to meet Lions from Canada and other countries. Chris also attended a session on "How to Attract/Recruit Women to Lions". There will be a Lions booth at the State Fair.

Jeanne talked about Nicole's Homecoming Oct. 3-6 in Gladbrook. She may be asking for help from Lion members, as they are anticipating over 150 people from around the nation will be visiting the "Heartland".

Pastor Joe Hackett lifted up this "Lion's Prayer": "If I were not a Lion, millions would not see. If I were not a Lion, how sad the world would be. If I were not a LIon, who would fill the need? If I were not a Lion, would anybody heed? But God has made us Lions, all, to serve our fellow man. He made us stand millions strong, for his almighty plan. So here we are assembled, the Lion's bell to ring. God, look down upon this place and Bless are gathering." Think about this prayer and how you can help your fellow man by joining the Gladbrook Lion's Club.
