No comments were heard during a public hearing on Monday for amending the current Tama County budget in the amount of $1,292,995 in additional expenditures. Following the hearing Supervisors Dan Anderson, Kendall Jordan and Larry Vest voted to approved the amended budget which totals $23,668,308 for the fiscal year ending June 30. Among items requiring the boost are $1 million for the new emergency radio system in capital projects of which the first payment is due in April ;and $195,435 in the Public Safety and Legal Services operating budget to account for this amount received in grant funding which is not determined or available when the initial budget is prepared. In other business supervisors: •set Tuesday, April 9, at 8 a.m. as the time to canvass the results of the April 2 special Iowa Valley Community College District $32 million bond issue. •approved weekly claims totaling $1268,364. •recognized county employees with Years of service awards.
