Gladbrook Women’s Club

Sixteen members of the Gladbrook Womens Club met at Spanky’s Restaurant for their monthly meeting on Thursday, March 14. The meeting opened with a very interesting program given by Linda Wiges of Traer. Linda is an author of four books and one play. She explained what is involved in writing and self publishing a book . Following the program, President Vivian opened the business meeting with sixteen members answering roll call. The secretary’s report was approved as read. June gave the treasurer’s report and it was filed along with the secretary’s report. Joan reported on the Spring luncheon being held by the club April 7th as a fundraiser to allow the club to support local projects. This is a new endeavor and hoped to be a successful project and enjoyable for the public. Vivian informed the group that he senior citizen dinner on April 11th will be hosted by the Women’s club with our monthly meeting following the dinner. Pauline announced the March member birthdays and anniversaries. June reminded the April Hospice Cookie bakers of their turns. May will be election of officers. Pat C. announced the nominations to date with two openings left to be filled. With no further business, the meeting was adjourned. March Hostesses were Carolyn G., Karen L., Rhonda, and Sandy. They served a fun St. Patrick’s Day themed cake and favor.
