Mavis also allowed us to enjoy a cup of coffee in her Christmas coffee cups. The coffee seemed to taste so good in those cups. Sunday Dec. 16th The Independent Living had a Tour of Homes/Rooms of the tenants. We were treated to homemade peanut clusters from Dorothy Weise. This was right after a delicious lunch of tender roast beef the kitchen had prepared for us. Christmas is a fun time. Thank You ~ Jeanie Resolution for the New Year – If exercise is on your list of resolutions, all you have to do is laugh. Researchers have found that laughing uses more muscles at one time than any other activity! 15 muscles are required to smile. There you go! National Activity Professionals Week is January 20 – 26. This year’s theme is “Oh, the Places You’ll Go.” This is the 37th anniversary. NAME THE BEAUTY SHOP CONTEST Our hairdresser, Lanette Martin, along with the Activity Department, is asking for your help in naming our beauty salon. You can give your name suggestions to Lanette, Michele or Marilyn. This will run through January 10th. Voting will be January 14th – 17th. The winner will receive a $20.00 gift card to be used towards a service in the shop. Let’s have some fun, and thanks for your help! Did everyone enjoy their New Year’s celebration? Or are you like most people anymore, who just decide to stay home and enjoy themselves with some hot cocoa. Or of course some other beverage, and sit around the fireplace with their families and look out at the beautiful snow, we recently received, blanketed all around us. It looked like a Christmas card. We hope everyone has a very blessed, happy, healthy New Year 2019, filled with family, God’s goodness, peace and lots of joy! If you would like to receive our monthly newsletter by e-mail or regular mail, or you have a family member who’d like to receive it, just give us a call and we can get you on the list. Thanks!
