Gladbrook UMW Christmas Luncheon

On December 13, 2018, a special Christmas luncheon was served to 15 members and guests. The tables were decorated by Linda Schneider in festive gray, silver, and red. Avriel Koester and June Klinefelter served a delicious turkey casserole, cranberry salad and roll. Maxine Schoel topped the meal with a chocolate peppermint filled jelly roll. Kathy Poling gave the prayer. After the meal, Pastor Gallo accompanied the group with several Christmas carol selections. A short business meeting was led by Kathy Poling, President. Secretary Pauline Flamme read the minutes of the November meeting. No corrections were made. Becky Fish thanked the group for helping and sponsoring the Kids Shopping Day. It was their seventh successful year. Kay Lowry and Carol Mead are doing treat bags for after the Sunday School program on December 16. Joan Surber made the popcorn balls. June Klinefelter reported that the garments she purchased are in use at the preschool. RoseMary moved that the UMW give the church a donation. Marcy Knaack seconded and the motion passed. Treasurer June Klinefelter reported that she had sent donations to Hawthorne, Goodwill and the Food Pantry. She also paid Joan Surber for the hotdogs for the Trunk or Treat night. June asked if Marcia Koester would be contacted to see if G-R had any special need. RoseMary reported 280 dish cloths had been sold and she will reorder. March project is Senior Citizen Dinner here. A committee has been chosen. Bonnie Murty, Diane Mussig, Karen Pieper, Kathy Poling, Linda Schneider, and Marcy Knaack. Martha Gamble sent her regards. The meeting closed with a reminder to take your pickles that RoseMary annually gives.
