Gladbrook Legion & Auxiliary

The Gladbrook Legion, Auxiliary, SAL, and Jr. Auxiliary members and their families met for their annual Christmas supper/meeting on Wed., Dec. 12th. After the meal served by the Unit, the Juniors entertained everyone with a very skit entitled “Shining Bright”. It was written by Jackie Sherman and it was about stars shining so brightly in the sky. Each star had a meaning like one was for our veterans, one was for the Nativity, etc. The younger Juniors sang “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”. The Juniors ended their program by everyone singing Christmas carols by candlelight. The Juniors each received candy from the the Unit President Jeanne Paustian The Juniors will have their own Christmas Party on Fri., Dec. 21st, at the Gladbrook Theater. They will be attending the movie “The Grinch”. The Unit will host their party. The Juniors will be bring items for the food pantry. The Legion and Auxiliary each held their own meeting. Nicole Clapp told about her upcoming trip to Pasadena and the privilege of riding on the Legion float in the Rose Parade. Jolene Denbow announced that we are a goal unit. The Auxiliary enjoyed a take-away gift exchange. Hostesses for the dinner were Kathy Vavaroch, Karen Eggers, Trudi Scott, and Jeanne Paustian. The Juniors are pictured by the Christmas tree in the Memorial Building.
