Gladbrook Women’s Club

Nineteen members of the Gladbrook Women’s Club met November 8th at the home of Barb Luethje. Prior to the meeting members were encouraged to visit the mobile DNR exhibit parked in front of the Gladbrook Library. The exhibit reminded participants of “How you live has an impact”. President Vivian called the meeting to order at 2:00 pm at Barb’s. Marcy read the meeting minutes from the October meeting. They were approved as read. June gave the treasurer’s report and it will be filed with the minutes. Correspondence included a request from Cedar Valley Hospice for donations to the Tree of Life fundraiser. Holiday Happenings ticket sales are going well. June reminded the members that had not paid for door prizes, Karen H. is in charge of Santa Sacks for the November 26 tree lighting. The December meeting will be held at the Binford House in Marshalltown. We will carpool from the Methodist church, leaving at 11:15 on December 13. Pauline read the birthdays and anniversaries for November. Hospice cookies for December will be provided by Marcy, Avriel, and Karen L. Karen P. announced that the Kids Shopping day is in need of tissue and gift bags. Vivian told about the disaster Relief Art Auction to be held November 16th from 5-8 at the Elmwood Country Club. With no further business, the meeting was adjourned, Hostesses Barb Luethje, June Klinefelter,and Vivian served a delicious fall lunch.
