Senior Citizens Dinner

October 18, 2018
Northern-Sun Print
The Gladbrook American Legion Auxiliary hosted the October Senior Citizens Dinner on Fri., Oct. 12th at the Memorial Building. The tables were decorated for Halloween. After a ham ball dinner and apple pie, Sue Koster lead a sing-a-along of Halloween carols. She read the “Spider & the Fly” poem, which some remembered from their childhood days. Many talked about going out to “Trick & Treat”. Jeanne mentioned that Doc Schaeferle always threw out pennies for the treats. Minnie Hooper made butter finger bars. Janice Larsen dressed up as a witch and passed out donuts on the end of her broom stick. Some remembered getting popcorn balls. Oh, the memories!!! Pastor Paul Knupp was the lucky winner of the stationary package and everyone enjoyed a candy treat as their favor. The next dinner is Fri., Nov. 9th, 11:30, at the Memorial Building with Westbrook Acres hosting. Please remember to call Jeanne to make reservations.
