On July 14, 2018, the vision given by the Iowa Bible reading Marathon was completed. The vision was symbolized around 2 Chronicles 7:14: "Then if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

All 99 counties would read about 12 chapters of The Bible and The Bible would be read from Genesis to Revelation on July 14 at 7:14 a.m. at their county courthouses.

The event Saturday began with prayer and the blowing of the Shofar. The blowing of the Shofar in the Bible was done on many occasions. It was blown when Moses received the tablets of the Law, Rosh Hashanah, committing to God, seeking repentance, call for a spiritual awakening, call to gather for worship, usher in the presence of the Lord, symbolize freedom and liberty, sounding the alarm for war/battle/spiritual battle and even will be at the return of the Messiah and the Rapture of His Bride. Numbers 10:8-9 8 "The sons of Aaron, the priests, are to blow the trumpets. This is to be a lasting ordinance for you and the generations to come. 9 When you go into battle in your own land against an enemy who is oppressing you, sound a blast on the trumpets. Then you will be remembered by the Lord your God and rescued from your enemies." was quoted for the blowing of the Shofar Saturday morning. Then various Pastors, cultures, and people read the assigned scriptures. Next pastors prayed for the church, county, state, nation, and the world. Completing the event Brian Hempy led the group in singing"The Battle Hymn of The Republic" and "God Bless America."The Shofar was again blown.

This is the third year that each county has been asked to read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Tama County completed the earlier reading done by various churches and people by the 4th of July. At any time in history it is important to know what the Bible says about living and the Truths of God. Our busy lives tend to distract us from the Word of God and living an abundant life, understanding who we are and what we need to stand for.
