GMG’s Emma Reed shows at Iowa City Arts Festival By Margaret Thomsen

June 14, 2018
Northern-Sun Print
Emma Reed, an eighth grader at GMG Junior High, showed her art work at the Iowa City Arts Festival on June 2 and 3. She was part of the Emerging Artist Pavilion and was one of sixteen artists showing and selling their art work there. The artists ranged in age from university art students to high school art students. Emma was the youngest person chosen to show her work. To participate in this show each artist had to send in a portfolio to be reviewed by a panel of judges. To be selected to participate in this show is prestigious. The art works Emma had on display were original drawings using pen and marker and a few canvas pieces using acrylic paint. Emma is pictured at the show with her art work displayed behind her.
