Smith chosen for new STC job By John Speer Central Iowa Press

Shauna Smith, a native of rural Gladbrook, was officially named South Tama’s Director of Curriculum and Student Services by the South Tama School Board on Monday night, May 21. Her hiring was recommended by incoming STC Superintendent Jared Smith. Shauna Smith is currently Dean of Students at Bondurant-Farrar, a position she had held for he past school year. Previously she served as Curriculum Development Leader for four years for the Marshalltown School District. She began her education career as a 6th grade teacher at Green Mountain-Garwin for five years. Smith has a B.A. from Central College, Pella, and a M.A. ion Administration from Iowa State University, Ames. She is a graduate of Gladbrook-Reinbeck High School. The daughter of Duane and Laura Woebbeking, she says she was active in 4-H with livestock and recalls trips with her parents to the Tama Livestock Auction. Her parents are active farmers. With her husband Ben, the couple has two children, daughter Brooklyn, 7, and son Brett, 5. Her husband farms in the Green Mountain area as do his parents, Robert and Marlys Smith.
