The Grundy County Memorial Hospital Foundation makes Community Health Grants available for projects that improve health in the communities served by the hospital. Gladbrook Reinbeck counseling staff Jessica Weber, left, and Jill Aalderks, second from left, received close to $4,000 in grant funding for new classroom materials to help teach students coping skills and other methods meant to build resilience and improve student mental health. Hospital Foundation board members Chris Schildroth, right, and Jan Ehrig, second from right, presented the grant funds to the faculty members. The Foundation’s Community Health Grant program has been in existence since 2014, providing close to $30,000 in funding to local governments, schools, and non-profit organizations in an effort to impact the health of local communities. The Foundation is raising funds for the grant program with a May 10 women’s health event in Grundy Center.
