The Wreaths looked Awesome in Pastel Florals, Grapevine and Beautiful Pattern Ribbons... Thanks to All who Came Out and Participated! It was a Full House for our Baby Duck Story Hour on Wednesday, as well... and it was the Perfect Wet, Rainy Day!! It was great to see so many New Littles come and Enjoy along with our Awesome Regulars Ü° We “Quacked” Open some Fun Books to Read, Colored Duck Pics, made Handprint Baby Ducks, Played a Fun Version of Duck-Duck-Goose and had a yummy cheese puff Snack... (which we ALL Agreed Ducks would have LOVED!) Come and Join is Next Wednesday at 10 am for another FUN Story Hour about Spring and Easter time! Thursday, Beth and I had Meetings/Seminars regarding Two Free Online Services that we are Offering to our Patrons at the Gladbrook Library… First, as a Web searcher, it is often very challenging to distinguish between quality content and less-than-credible information when sifting through long lists of search results. To help aid us with this burden public libraries, universities and other research facilities invest in quality databases that provide the best possible content for their users, such as those offered on EBSCOhost. The Gladbrook Public Library now subscribes to EBSCOhost, a web-based information resource or a type of “Online Library” which includes full text magazines, newspapers and reference tools. You can search it from any computer with Internet access - at home, work, school or at the library. You will find this an Awesome Tool to use for Research Papers, as it has a Great “Citing” Option that is immeasurable when Quoting Sources! Access to EBSCOhost is made possible through a partnership between the State Library of Iowa and Iowa’s Area Education Agencies. Second, is regarding “Bridges: Iowa’s ELibrary”, that offers ebooks and audio books available to download for FREE!! Library card holders can check out and download digital media anytime, anywhere. Gladbrook Public Library card members now have access to more than 16,500 ebooks and 7,500 audio books. Many titles offer multiple copies for checkout and users can even request to be emailed when items becomes available. Digital content is borrowed for a set period of time with titles automatically expiring at end of the lending period. This means NO Late Fees! For more information on either of these Free Services to you, please Contact Us to Help you get Started!! A Special Thank You: A Huge “Thank You” goes out for the Wonderful Donation of Young Children’s Movies that were brought into the Library this Week for the Littles in our Community… Titles Include many Thomas the Train, Sesame Street, Rolie Polie Olie, VeggieTales, Little Einstein, Stanley and Piglet Movies !!
