On April 2, the Garwin Roughriders completed a service project at the Second Chance Thrift Store in Marshalltown. The club members learned how the thrift store serves low income and immigrant communities in Marshalltown and then passes on profits from the store to support orphans living in Sierra Leone, Africa. Club members also looked around the store to find possible 4-H project ideas, in the areas of home improvement, citizenship, leadership or clothing. The Second Chance Thrift Store is open Thursday 12:00-5:00 and Friday and Saturday 9:00-5:00. It is located at 230 South 3rd Street in Marshalltown. Club members in attendance included front row: Jacoby Woodbury, Berkely Dvorak, Drayke Dvorak and Ethan Klemesrud; second row: Alivia Edens, Hallie Claussen, Jabari Woodbury, Stephenie Claussen, Rachael Slifer, Violet Jackson, Wyatt Jackson, Club Leader Ann Jackson; and third row: Bryce Edens and Emilie Claussen.
