Junior Auxiliary

The Gladbrook Juniors met on Sun., Sept. 25th, for their annual family kick-off potluck. 3rd District Jr. President Kayla Vavroch gave the prayer. The Juniors with the help of the their mothers made Halloween pumpkin favors for the residents of the Iowa Veterans Home. They also renewed their vows in the Gladbrook Jr. Auxiliary with three Juniors participating in the initiation service for the first time Emma McClintock, Braya Davis, and Jo Lage. They received their JR pin. Kayla told the group about her project for the Iowa Veterans Home. She wants everyone to donate paperback books for the residents. All the Juniors were excited for the yearly drawing of prizes. Each Junior got to pick out a prize. Kayla Vavroch received the jar of Halloween candy by guessing the closes number of pieces in the jar. Hostesses for the potluck were Kathy Vavroch , Leslie McClintock, and Jamie Moore. The Juniors won several awards this past year including: first place honors with their participation in Americanism and their scrapbook. They also won the Presidentís Award for Junior Activities. The Gladbrook Juniors are one of the top Jr. Units in the state. The Juniors next meeting is Sat., Oct. 15th, 9:30, at Westbrook Acres with Jodi Betts, Shanna Goos and Tandi Davis in charge. They will be making fall favors for the residents of the Ronald McDonald House.
