Marion was born October 25th, 1941 in Grinnell, Iowa the son of Perry and Helen (Brooks) Miller. He grew up in rural Beaman, Iowa and graduated from Beaman-Conrad High School in 1960. On July 6, 1963 he was united in marriage to Beverly Walter at the Conrad Methodist Church. This union was blessed with two children, Brett & Jodee. Marion loved the outdoors and enjoyed going out on the wheat harvest from Oklahoma to North Dakota in his younger years. He farmed in the Beaman area until 1972, before making their home at the family farm just west of Gladbrook along Hwy 96. He owned a lime & rock trucking business, hauled for Funk Seed for several years, owned and operated a Scorpion snowmobile dealership in both Beaman and Gladbrook and raised Pioneer seed corn. He and his wife, Bev owned the Country Cupboard gift shop for 25 years at the home place where their daughter Jodee and family now reside. Marion farmed with his son, Brett until retirement in 2007. He and Bev then moved to their dream home on Bull Shoals Lake in the woods near Branson, Missouri. Marion was a member of Peace United Church of Christ. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, positive attitude and love for International Harvester machinery. His greatest joys were spending time with his family and friends, mowing the yard, watching NASCAR and ESPN and sitting on the deck overlooking the lake. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Beverly; children Brett (Elizabeth) Miller and Jodee (James) Stoakes, all of Gladbrook; grandchildren Justin (Anna) Miller, Hannah Miller, Kathryn Ryherd, Evan, Emily, Ellissa & Eric Stoakes and great-grandchild, Kinley Marie Miller of Gladbrook; brother, Marvin (Sharon) Miller and sister, Janice Martin all of Conrad; sisters-in-law Barbara Miller and Bonnie Zink; brothers-in-law Don Hasselmann and Leland Arends; several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Perry & Helen Miller; brother Max Miller; sisters Marilyn Hasselmann, Donna Arends and Joan Koch; brothers-in-law Charlie Reinhard, LeRoy Koch and Larry Zink and a niece, Alayne Reinhard. Thank you all for the love and support you have given Marion and our family over the years.
