Gladbrook Auxiliary News

January 25, 2013
Northern-Sun Print
VA&R chairman of the Gladbrook Auxiliary, Pat Oettchen organized the winter sewing days for Thursday and Friday, January 17 and 18. Volunteers came at 9 a.m. both days with six sewing machines ready to sew and roll the denim goods into balls for the IVH rug looms. We thank A-Kleen commercial laundry of Grundy Center for keeping us well supplied with worn jeans to cut up and use. We completed 11-12 large balls and the group each took materials home to sew or roll. Our famous ‘dump’ soup furnished the meal for Thursday and on Friday, we enjoyed Casey’s pizza. Those helping were: In front (l-r)-Lucy DeWitt, Louise Ulch, Margaret Griffin. Standing (l-r) Dick Denbow, Joyce Bern, Joyce Swangel, Marilyn Carstensen, and Jolene Denbow.
