The Garwin American Legion Auxilairy met Monday, October 1, 7:00 p.m., in the Legion Hall. The meeting opened with prayer by President Jane Jordebrek. Minutes were approved and treasurer’s report was given. Membership stands at 44 paid. All obligations due October 20 have been paid. The poppy order for small poppies has been increased from 100 to 150 and large poppies stays at 225. Discussion was held on the veterans cemetery memorial project. More information is needed before we can proceed. It was reported half of the cost of bricks must be paid when ordered and the balance at completion. A letter will be sent to each member when all the details and information is gathered. A report on the cost of printing cookbooks was given. More estimates will be gathered before a decision is made. Our unit is respondible for the October birthdays at the Juvenile Home. It was decided to send $5.00 each with their birthday card. There are four girls and one boy. Jane will take care of this. Dates to remember: Mon., Nov. 5-Unit meeting 7 p.m. at Legion Hall; Feb. 26-County meeting at Elberon; Tues. June 25-Joint county potluck, flag burning, and meeting at Garwin. Lunch was served at the conclusion of the meeting by Katherine Kunch.
