My family and I arrived Monday, December 28, in Orlando, Florida. That night from 4-6 PM all the All American Halftime cast had to check in. We checked in, received our outfits, and were given our nametags. After everyone checked in, we had a meeting with the head of ESP Productions. He talked about rules and how it would be a great experience. On Tuesday, December 29, the All American Halftime cast spent the day at Disneyworld. It was very warm that day and very crowded. During the day they had to shut down Disneyworld due to the crowds. Everyone had a great day. On Wednesday, December 30, the cast spent the morning rehearsing in the hotel’s ballroom. It was a very long practice but was very well needed. After practice everyone was served a lunch, and we headed to Universal Studios for the day. Universal was also very crowed, but we enjoyed a day in the sun. On Thursday, December 31, was our day of practice on the field with the band 17 Candle. Everyone worked really hard and was served lunch on the field with our parents who came to watch us practice. That night the cast had dinner and an island style pool party. We also got to meet the band, and they signed t-shirts and talked to all of us. On Friday January 1, the cast arrived at the stadium at 8 AM to practice, but it was pouring down rain, so we stayed on the bus and watched the movie 50 First Dates. After it finally stopped raining, everyone went onto the field and practiced the routine. By then it was time for us to be in our seats for the start of the game. During the second quarter our instructors came and got us to get ready for our halftime performance. LSU and Penn State bands both played before we performed. Then the announcement came that due to the field’s condition that the band could not perform, but we still performed with their music. That night there was a post game party and there was a dance, and they showed us our performance. Then the band 17 Candle performed for the All American Halftime Cast. This was an experience of a lifetime. I met new friends and people from all over the world. I had a great time and would recommend this to anyone. I am really looking forward to performing again next year. I will always remember this amazing experience.
